It is the emergence of one’s self-expression and exploration that I enjoy most at Little Arrows! My name is Steve Gardner and I have spent the last 20 years of my life learning how to play music. Though I have toured America and Europe many times, recorded in diverse genres such as Hip Hop, Country and Irish music and performed on stages large and small, I have always had to maintain “Beginner’s Mind” while learning. Making difficult things simple is the trademark of my teaching style, and I love to get my hands dirty.
Playing music together is the key to understanding how to play, but more importantly it’s the key to developing a life-long love of playing music. Learning music starts with having music in your space—just like learning to talk requires having people talking to you. At Little Arrows it’s my job to make sure kids hear, dance and get involved in the process of making music.
